Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision

"Supervision is the nurturing of supervisees to develop them as “wise clinicians.” It involves mentoring, feedback, providing a holding space, monitoring of clinical judgements and ethical practice, all of which in turn, require that the supervisor can be constructively self-critical and self-aware.

Supervision is the cornerstone of support for all those providing therapy, regardless of their level of experience or competence. The task of nurturing the nascent and acquired abilities of the supervisee requires the supervisor to have an understanding of the developmental stages of both the supervisor and supervisee." -  Gill
